FAQs

Customising my adventure
DOOR-TO-MOOR

Begin your journey the moment you step outside your front door. With exclusive VIP pickup and drop off, your escape is effortless and stylish from start to finish. No stress. No logistics. Just pure relaxation and unforgettable moments!

ONE-WAY NAVIGATION

Allow all of your journey to be all about your enjoyment. There’s no pressure to go half-way and then come back to the start point, nor to reach a specific end destination. Simply cruise at your leisure. Either way, the choice is yours and it’s FREE.

PRIVATE SKIPPER & CREW HAND

Optionally, you can add a skipper to cover all or part of your cruise time? Your skipper takes responsibility for the boat’s operation while you relax or explore. Your skipper will also provide some personalised training and share interesting local insights and knowledge. If, however, you simply want help with locks, mooring, and general tasks like re-filling the water tank then a crew hand can be at your command!

PERSONAL CONCIERGE

You are always connected to your designated ‘SyneWaver’ who picks you up, shows you the ropes, helps you before and during your holiday, and takes you back home afterwards. Their success is measured by your smiles.

What features can I look forward to?
What can I get from my Narrowboat experience?

Smiles and memories. There are many reasons people love their time on the waterways, and just as many outcomes. We often see them grouped into one-or-more of four main categories:

  • FOR FULLFILLMENT
  • FOR PERSPECTIVE
  • TO RECHARGE
  • GAIN KNOWLEDGE
Can I win a holiday?

We periodically run prize competitions with a view donating a percentage of any proceeds to one of our charities, such as LNBP Community Boating. We are sponsoring them at Crick Boat Show 2026.

Can I buy one of your Narrowboats?

Yes, you can! If you’d like to explore the options then please find the details HERE.

What do I need to bring?
What is the Navigators Club?

The Navigators Club recognises people that have cruised a section of the waterways in a SYNEWAVE boat. Their combined goal is to complete all 2,000 miles of the UK Waterways and become a community of like-minded souls who created unforgettable memories and stories. Each boat completing the network is awarded the Glass Propellor and it’s Navigators are each promoted to the coveted rank of Commadore along with the associated discounts, privileges and accolades.

How do you operate locks?

When you first arrive for your holiday we walk through everything with you. We will come out with you for the first hour or until you are comfortable. We will help you operate a lock, discuss swing bridges, and show you how to moor up and set off.

You will have a handy Navigator’s booklet and, of course, you can call anytime if there is anything you want to ask.

What’s the cruising range and how often do I need to charge the batteries?

There are of course numerous variables to consider; not least of which include how hard you drive the motor and what appliances you have running. But as a guide, significant advances in battery technology mean that a SYNEWAVE.boat can typically cruise over 120 miles on a single charge. At at average of 3 mph and 6 hours sensible cruising per day, then you could enjoy a week off-grid before needing to recharge.

To recharge you simply plug the boat into shore power and you can fully recharge the batteries in 9 hours at a 32 amp pedestal, or 18 hours at a 16 amp pedestal. The boat itself also has an onboard generator and solar panels each of which are dedicated to charging the batteries.
